The Bridge
We had to get across a bridge to get to the hiking area on the other side. The previous night (Friday) we had crossed it no problem, but on Saturday, after a few hours of torrential rain, it had collapsed at one point...
The large red bridge in the foreground is an old railway track I think...it seemed to come from nowhere and lead to nowhere.
At first the old Chinese men that stand around the bridge - seeming to have no particular job other than to just "be there" - didn't want to let us pass. Then they told us we could pass but they wouldn't let us come back, which didn't make any sense. Finally we just went and everything turned out okay - nobody fell in the water and we weren't stranded on one side!
The current was pretty strong. I loved the sound of the water...
Crossing wasn't all that tricky - many of us weren't thinking all that straight anyway, the night before having been a little rough...
